Pacing Strategy: Comfortable opening mile, then settling into our goal pace. Thinking about the Geist course, there are a few nice climbs, so we'll aim to keep an even "effort" on the uphills then let it open up a bit on the downhills, keeping our average pace relatively in line. One big thing at Geist is to save it up for the return through that first/last neighborhood with that last climb from roughly 10.5 to 11.5 miles. Keep it smooth through there and then we can bring it home over the bridge.

Pacing Strategy:  Even 5k splits. Geist Half is 21kms of rolling hills. We won't sweat the miles, but we will make sure every 5km is about even and you can punch it in at the end!

Pacing Strategy:  Even splits, with a little room to grow. My goal is to keep everyone relaxed early, stay close to goal pace, and make sure we're not spending energy we don't need to spend. We'll check in with each other, have some fun, and if you're feeling good late, we'll finish strong. The first few miles are not the time to prove how fast you can run.

Pacing Strategy: Will be hitting 8:00 on the number every mile.  We’ll take a little free speed on the downhills, but pace will be steady!

Pacing Strategy: My approach will be calm and steady, aiming for even splits throughout the race. I’ll encourage runners to stay hydrated, focus on their breathing, trust their training, and believe in themselves. The goal is to stay controlled early and finish strong together!

Nicholas Bailey

Pacing Strategy: I like to run a few seconds faster a mile to bank some time at the end.

Pacing Strategy: Stay steady, run even splits, and focus only on the current mile.

Pacing Strategy: Even effort over the hills, and slowing down a little through aid stations so we all stay hydrated.

Drezden Johnson

Pacing Strategy: Consistency is key! I try to keep my splits as even as I can, adjusting to the hilly course when I need to. Hopefully finishing a little faster at the final stretch.

2:20 Pace

Matthew Heimann

Pacing Strategy: A 2:20 half marathon requires a 10:40 pace. We will need to run at a 10:20-10:30/mile pace so we can walk through water stops and slow down a bit when climbing hills. This will help us finish right on time.

Ryan Jones

Pacing Strategy: Even splits and banking 5-10 seconds per mile to account for water stops.

Pacing Strategy: I like to start slower and progressively pick up the pace to make sure we have a nice kick and can stay strong during the final miles.
