Q: Is this a walker friendly race?
A: The half marathon will have a 4-hour cut off, while the 5K will have an 80-minute cut off. The 5K is a walker and family friendly race. Strollers are permitted for the 5K race.

Please Note: All packets MUST be picked up on Friday unless you paid for race day pickup. Unfortunately, we are unable to mail packets in advance for in-person participants.
Saturday, September 16, 2023 is Race Day, starting at 7:00 AM. The Post Race Party area is open from 7:15 AM-11:00 AM. The VIP tent is open from 6:00 AM-11:00 AM, with VIP food served from 7:15 AM-10:30 AM (only). Please find all post race activity details here!
Q: Will registration be offered at the Expo & Packet Pick-Up?
A: Yes! Online registration will close at 5PM on Friday, September 15, 2023. You must be able to go to the Expo and pick up your packet by 7PM. You can still register in person at the expo between 5PM – 8 PM if spots remain available.
Q: What should I know about the race course?
A: The 2023 Geist Half Marathon and 5K is a community race filled with nice views of Geist waterfront, laid-back neighborhoods and minor hills. Please see the course description page for maps and elevation charts. This year’s updated 5K course will take participants through the new Geist Waterfront Park off Olio Road!
Q: Where do I park?
A: On race day there is NO parking at the start or finish areas! Please arrive early to avoid congestion. Free parking will be available in the following locations: Fall Creek Intermediate School, Fall Creek Elementary School, Fall Creek Junior High, and Grace Church Fishers. There is NO parking at Hamilton Southeastern High School, Kroger or Walgreens parking lots (enforced by Fishers police). Visit the directions and parking page for additional information.
Q: What are the temporary road closures and restrictions on race day?
A: There will be rolling road closures on race day, please find all details here to plan ahead.
Q: Will there be a gear check location?
A: Yes, gear check will be provided and is available at your own risk. The gear check will be located at First Merchants Bank in the Geist Pavilion Shopping Center (11521 Olio Rd).
Q: What is the weather policy for race day?
A: We are a rain-or-shine event. Dangerous weather will be monitored and if necessary a race delay or cancellation may be called. We will only cancel the event if race officials and local law enforcement agree it is unsafe to continue. We encourage you to sign up for SMS messaging during the registration process to have the most up to date information delivered to you in case of weather delays. Please review the Flag System to familiarize yourself with the weather protocol.

Q: Is there a minimum age to participate?
A: All ages are welcome for our 5K! Runners age 12 and up may participate in the half marathon. Note: Children in strollers do not require registration for the 5K race.
Q: When is the registration deadline?
Registration is open until 5 PM on Friday, September 15 or until the event has reached maximum capacity. You must be able to go to the Expo and pick up your packet by 7 pm. You can still register in person at the expo between 5 – 8 PM. Be sure to register early to secure your spot!
Q: Can I change my registration to a different distance?
A: You may change your registration distances until the 5 PM on Friday, September 15 or until the event has reached maximum capacity. You must be able to go to the Expo and pick up your packet by 7 PM. You can still register in person at the expo between 5 – 8 PM.
To do so, please email info@visioneventmanagement.com. Please note, there will be no refunds for registrations that move from the Half to the 5K distances. Payment will be collected on the difference between the 5K and Half distances.
Q: Am I able to cancel or transfer my registration?
A: Unfortunately no, please be aware that ALL entries are non transferable and non refundable.
Q: Interested in a VIP experience?
A: VIP tickets include all you can eat catered food and drinks, upgraded restrooms, special VIP gear check, and more!
Q: Can I defer my registration to 2024?
A: The 2023 race is non-deferrable.
Q: Is group registration or group discounts available?
A: We highly encourage groups to participate in the event. If you are interested in a group discount, please email info@visioneventmanagement.com.

Q: Will finisher medals be provided?
A: You can find a preview of this year's finisher medals on all Geist Half Marathon social media pages. They are also posted on the homepage.
Q: What awards will be offered?
A: Awards will be given to the top 3 female and top 3 male runners.
Q: What do I receive for participating?

Q: Are volunteer opportunities available?
Definitely! There are so many ways you can support the race, from helping with packet pickup and goody bag stuffing to onsite opportunities such as water stops, course marshalling, and event setup and tear down. Learn more on our Volunteer page here.

A: All race results will be posted online. You will receive instructions on where and how to access your results.
