Geist Half Marathon Appoints Volunteer Coordinator

Lesley StoefflerLesley Stoeffler, a Geist homeowner and president of Genesis Property Management, has been appointed the Volunteer Coordinator for the inaugural Geist Half Marathon and 5K Run/Walk to be held on May 17, 2008.

Stoeffler has been coordinating the 500 Festival Mini Marathon training program at the Fort Benjamin Harrison YMCA for the last seven years and has been active in the formation and sponsorship of the Geist Half Marathon.

“We’re very lucky to have such a capable and willing person step up and lead this vital committee for the Geist Half Marathon,” said Tom Britt, president of the Geist Half Marathon Inc.

An estimated 500 volunteers will be needed for pre-race and race events including packet pick-up, sponsor expo hall, water stations, field marshals, and post race festivities. If you would like to participate as a volunteer, please visit the Geist Half Marathon website (www.GeistHalf.com) and sign-up for the Google Group for email notices of upcoming meetings and volunteer opportunities.

    Hi Leslie,

    I plan on running the half BUT I can help with pre race stuff (e.g. packet pick etc…) Please let me know how I can help this GREAT event!!!
